Carnival Catch

Carnival Catch is a hybrid game that offers a cornucopia of scoring options. Handlers may use up to 3 discs but are limited to 10 attempts, or 2 minutes, whichever comes first. Dogs can earn a maximum of 35 points for disc catches (10 attempts x 3.5). Points are scored for every catch as follows:

• 0-10 yards = 1 point
• 10-20 yards = 2 points
• Over 20 yards = 3 points
• ½ point bonus for in-air catches

Handlers can earn a maximum of 30 points for disc throws (6 challenges x 5). The dog does not have to catch the disc in order to earn the throwing challenge points. 5 points are awarded for each different challenge completed:

• Hoop (target zone is 3′ in diameter)
• Hop (target zone is a 4′ x 4′ skip pad)
• Slit (target zone is several 4′ wide x 6″ high slits)
• Slot (target zone is several 2′ wide x 4′ high slots)
• Over (target zone is 5′ wide x 2′ high starting 6′ off the ground)
• Under (target zone is 5′ wide x 2′ high starting 2′ off the ground)
