Rules for Carnival Catch
|
|
|
Carnival Catch is a hybrid game that offers a cornucopia of scoring options. Handlers may use up to 3 discs but are limited to 10 attempts, or 2 minutes, whichever comes first. Dogs can earn a maximum of 35 points for disc catches (10 attempts x 3.5). Points are scored for every catch as follows:
0-10 yards = 1 point
10-20 yards = 2 points
Over 20 yards = 3 points
½ point bonus for in-air catches
Handlers can earn a maximum of 30 points for disc throws (6 challenges x 5). The dog does not have to catch the disc in order to earn the throwing challenge points. 5 points are awarded for each different challenge completed:
Hoop (target zone is 3' in diameter)
Hop (target zone is a 4' x 4' skip pad)
Slit (target zone is several 4' wide x 6" high slits)
Slot (target zone is several 2' wide x 4' high slots)
Over (target zone is 5' wide x 2' high starting 6' off the ground)
Under (target zone is 5' wide x 2' high starting 2' off the ground) Last Updated Friday, November 19 2010 @ 08:35 AM EST |
